Tamarack offers a variety of expert adventures for guests looking for something different and exciting to do this summer and can arrange an array of backcountry day and multi day trips. You really haven’t experienced Idaho until you’ve ventured out of bounds.

  • Full day, guided whitewater Trips - May 1st through October 15th.

Guided Fishing Tours

The Carbarton–The one run for everyone

This 10-mile stretch of the famed North Fork of the Payette River alternates between tranquil, deep, azure pools perfect for swimming to a rowdy Class III finale at Howard’s Plunge. GUIDED FISHING TOURS As much admired and desired as the Payette is for rafting and kayaking, the pristine river is home to hefty rainbows residing in premium holes whose locations are committed to memory by Tamarack’s hospitable guides. From the secure position of our 16- foot Willie Drift Boat, you’ll be privy to every patch of productive water all the way down the canyon.

  • Guided trips depart daily from Tamarack
  • Dry fly and subsurface fly-fishing for rainbow trout
  • Fly-fishing instruction available on and off-site
  • Maximum: 2 anglers
  • Drift fish for rainbow trout and enjoy a riverside lunch prepared by your guide
  • Most fish are fat rainbows that move into the Cabarton reach from Lake Cascade in early spring or late summer
  • Although not required by law on the Payette River, Tamarack practices catch and release fishing
  • Tamarack Resort offers rental fly rods, spinning rods and all the equipment to make the most of your trip
